Brookhaven XRD data analysis tool

Introduction

Experiments run for ChemE (Delft University of Technology) at Brookhaven result in multiple data files per experiment. The real information in those data files can be found by tracking the data over time. The presented tool combines the individual data files to a 3D plot that visualizes how the signal changes over time and that enables to quantify specific changes.

The analysis tool '3D reporter' reads data files from one experiment, fills in the gaps and combines the results to 3D plots. For additional information on how 3D reporter works, please check the online help file. For information on the report 3D reporter produces, refer to the sample reports.

Remarks

  • The program use is not limited to XRD data files.
  • The presented VIs were created with LabVIEW 8.5.1.
  • All 3D plots in 3D reporter are CWGraph3D objects.
  • The LabVIEW 8.5.1 Development System doesn't install on Windows 7 but the Runtime Engine works fine.

Acknowledgement

I thank Jorge Gascon for the project proposal and for his help on developing the program.
